HAPPY 21st ANNIVERSARY LAKE EFFECTS! In 1986 the Lake Effects Horse Show circuit was formed to accommodate riders in Western Michigan. Our first awards banquet was a pig roast following the last horse show of the summer. We now host beautiful banquets for these ceremonies, awarding over 20 trophies and 100 ribbons. The LEHS provides ten affordable summer shows at wonderful facilities with experienced show managers. Many riders who got their start on the LEHS have gone on to qualifications and awards on the national level. We invite you to join us as we celebrate 21 YEARS of hosting Horse Shows. The Lake Effect Horse Shows will be hosting the American Hunter Jumper/Dover Saddlery Junior Hunter Challenge again this year. It is only held at shows unrecognized by the USEF. Riders may not have shown higher than 2'9". The fence height for the class is 2'3" - 2'6". The class is run in a two round classic format with scores announced. At the end of the season, the riders top three events/scores will count toward a year-end award. There is a Western and Eastern Champion. The Champions were given a travel grant to the Capital Challenge Horse show to watch the hunters compete and to meet leading hunter riders/trainer. The Lake Effect Horse Shows are proud to announce that Jacqui Meyers is the 2005 Eastern regional Champion of the American Hunter-Jumper Foundation/Dover Saddlery Junior Hunter Challenge. Jacqui rides at Casey Hughes, Fox Brush Farm in Dewitt, Michigan. Her mount for the summer was "Night Cap", owned by Deborah Devine. Jacqui was the guest of the AHJF and Dover attending the Capital Challenge Horse Show. She met many leading professional riders, course designers, show managers, veterinarians and farriers. There was a center ring awards presentation for her and the Western region winner. Her trainer, Amy Hayes, also received a jacket for her student's effort. Congratulations Jacqui!

No rider membership is required, all riders points are automatically counted toward
equitation classes. Any rider is invited to show in the LEHS medals, according to each
class description. Your horse must be "nominated" for it's hunter points to count toward
year end awards.
Nominations must be mailed to Sandi Teachman, 11666 Sonoma Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015 before
your horse's first show.
